| LESSON 1: THE TREE OF LIFE - Path 12 | |||
THE PATH BETWEEN THE WHITE AND BLACK SPHERES The path between the Sphere of Awareness (white sphere), and the Sphere of Belief (black sphere) is Path 12 the Path of Memory and Forgetfulness. This is the path of remembering and storing or forgetting our memories. It is the path of thinking about memories. Our memories are information, thoughts, ideas, words, pictures and attitudes. These are the things we remember These are the things we think about on this path.
THE PATH OF REMEMBERING AND FORGETTING The Path of Memory and Forgetfulness is also the Path of Remembering and Forgetting. This path is called a three-fold path because there are three parts to our memory:
We can forget in our conscious mind. Indeed, we do that all the time. We also forget in our subconscious mind but this may be limited to only the things we really want to forget. But our unconscious mind remembers everything. This means that at the deepest level of our being we remember everything from the moment we were created. THE FUNCTION OF THE PATH OF MEMORY We become aware and we remember this information on some level of our being. We consciously remember the things that seem important to us. But we do not remember unimportant things regarding this lifetime. Sometimes we even forget the important things. Our ego and our physical mind cannot address the information we do not remember. That doesn't mean we do nothing about it. It means we do not consciously do anything about that information. Sometimes we subconsciously or unconsciously act on forgotten information. We subconsciously remember all of our awareness in this lifetime. We remember these things whether they are important or not. But we do not remember our awareness outside of this lifetime. All of the things we intentionally or unintentionally forget in our conscious mind are here in our subconscious mind. They are also in our unconscious mind, but we don't remember that either. If we subconsciously address something in this life time, we do so without any awareness that's what we're doing. This can be good if we subconsciously help other people. It can also cause us problems if we harm ourselves or others physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically or spiritually without any conscious knowledge that's what we're doing. We unconsciously remember everything. When we have no guidance from our conscious mind or subconscious mind, we react unconsciously. That may be beneficial. It may not be beneficial. Sometimes we may never know because we did what we did unconsciously. Whatever we do unconsciously may be beneficial or not but we have no way of knowing that we did it or what happened because we did it. We all meet people, places, situations and things that we don't like and we don't know why we don't. This may be the result of either a subconscious or unconscious memory. In other words we're reacting because of a Soul or Spirit memory or because of an unconscious communion or subconscious intuitive insight. THE LAW OF MEMORY The Law of Memory states that we remember everything on one or more conscious levels of our being; and what we remember may have an effect on us and others whether we know it or not. On the conscious level we remember things as we think they were or our mind perceived them to be. This is not always reliable. On both the subconscious and unconscious level we remember they way things were and the way we perceived them. We can use our intuition to tune into our subconscious mind and gain insights into the truth about anything. We can also use our receptive mind to tune into our unconscious memory for the same purpose. All these things will become more clear as you proceed through the remaining lessons on the Tree of Life. THE OPPOSITE OF MEMORY IS FORGETFULNESS Forgetfulness is a function of our conscious mind. Our unconscious mind remembers everything and forgets nothing. Our subconscious mind remembers the things that are important to us in this lifetime. Most of us consciously forget much of the trivia of life and remember the important things. Sometimes we do forget the important things because we operate someplace on the continuum between remembering and forgetting. CORRESPONDENCES TO THE TREE OF LIFE Path 12 is assigned to the Tarot card II, the High Priestess, and the Hebrew letter Beth. The High Priestess admonishes us to remember whatever it is we are focused on right now. Inverted, the High Priestess advises us this is very important for us right now. The Hebrew letter Beth means house and Path 12 is a reminder that our memory is a storehouse of information waiting for us to investigate. It's often beneficial to stop and go inside ourselves to our storehouse of memory before making a decision about anything. The affirmation for Path 12 is: I remember everything I need to know about __________ or I remember everything I need to know to _____________.
