Your assignment is to reduce this list to nine items ranked from one through nine. The easiest way to rank your nine items is to divide them into three groups of three. These are your top, middle and bottom groups of three. Then rank the three items in each group as the top, middle and bottom item for that group.

You can force yourself to be happy doing anything, but if you want true peace of mind, contentment and joy, whatever you do should express your current set of personal values. We say "current set of personal values," because as we grow and mature spiritually, our values change from month to month and year to year.

You'll know when you values change because you come to a point where you realize you are less content, less joyful and your mind is less peaceful. When that time comes you will benefit by coming back to these lessons and starting right here.

HOW TO PROCEED FROM HERE

What you have just identified are your three basic values, and six other values in descending order. Your three basic values are fundamental to you. Unless you can experience and express them, you will suffer from lack of peace of mind, lack of contentment and lack of joy in your life. Life is better when you can express and experience these values all the time in your life.

The other six values are important to your well-being, but you must experience and express your three basic values first. Then you can look for ways to express your other six primary values. Doing the basics first is important in everything we do.

Once you feel comfortable and finished with this lesson for the time being, please proceed to identify your gifts that you can use for the benefit of yourself and others.
